Our friend Steve threw a Forever 29 Prom party for his wife, Sabrina’s birthday. I borrowed a dress from my friend Kara and secured a babysitter for the much needed night out.

In preparation for prom, I decided to take Sophia to the mall Saturday afternoon and got our make-up done. She was as excited as i thought she’d be. Since she was such a good girl, we also went to the pet store (which she thought was AMAZING), then to Michaels and picked up some stickers.

When we got home, I had just enough time to spend on my hair, 2 hours and half a bottle of hairspray later we were all ready to go.

We had a great supper with everyone at Latin King, then took the party bus to a dance in Ankeny. The room was decorated for prom and even had a photo backdrop for some great Prom pictures. To top the night off we danced the night away to some great 90s tunes.

It was really nice to get out and have some fun, we haven’t done that in a long time!! Great party Steve and Sabrina!

She had the great idea to carve pumpkins, which most of us hadn’t done in years. Luckily, we all survived without having to dial 911. I was especially proud of my pumpkin, since I didn’t think there was a creative bone in my body.

Anyway, here is a picture of our handy work:

It was a really good seminar. Last night they treated us to a prime rib supper at the Historical Center. They had some trivia sheets that we had to fill out by walking around the Historical Building to find the answers. Once you had all the answers, your name would be entered to win some prizes. Much to my surprise, I was the first winner of the night. I won a huge gift basket!! I can’t remember the last time I ever won anything. It must have been my lucky night.

Last week, our work had a little tour to show the rest of the company the inside of our pharmacy. People always go in and out of that area, but no one has ever seen beyond the secured front door. After the tour they had a ton of treats and small quiz about the pharmacy and the company. Today they drew for prizes and again I was one of the lucky winners. The prize wasn’t much, but I was so happy to win…again. Twice in 24 hours.

I think I’m going to run and pick up a lottery ticket for the drawing on Saturday!!

This year, I surprised Lynnette with a hot air balloon ride as a two year anniversary present. Since I already had most of the pictures uploaded to flickr, I wanted to post a link (click photo to the right).

Needless to say, it really was a trip of a lifetime. Although, I spent most of the flight with a death grib on the basket. I don’t think Lynnette had any fears what so ever; at one point she hung over the edge of the basket: I politely asked her to keep all hands and feet in.
