Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We’ve been pretty busy over the last couple of weeks!!

The weekend before Christmas Grandma Robin and Dick came over for an early Christmas. We all had a great time. It was the kids’ first Christmas this year and they loved EVERYTHING they got. It was a great day.

The weather over the next week was SNOW, SNOW, SNOW. We knew early on that it was going to be a white Christmas. The snow was so bad (worse in NW Iowa where they got close to 2 ft), so we decided to spend Christmas weekend snuggled in our own warm house. Christmas day was wonderful!! The kids were so happy to open their gifts. Derek’s favorites were the Mac (Cars) carrying case that fits 12 hot wheels cars and Sophia’s pink fuzzy phone and of course his Handy Manny blanket. Sophia’s favorite was her new Princess sheets.

New Year’s Day we finally made the trip to Cherokee for the Fassler/Goodburn Family Christmas. Unfortunately the whole Goodburn family didn’t make it. This is the second year in a row that weather has kept us all apart, but for a few hours we had the entire Fassler clan all together.

Sophia followed Emily around (just like usual) and the 3 boys fought like brothers, as usual!! Derek had a tough weekend, his sleeping habits interrupted everyone. He also had a snow globe shatter on his head, which was not a pleasant experience, but everyone was ok. Another good family trip!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Very Happy New Year!
