Relaxing Weekend

Saturday after lunch Sophia got invited next door to play with the Anderson’s. So I took advantage and put Derek down for a nap and started cleaning. I cleaned the walls, cupboards and all the floors in the kitchen. Spic N Span, they have never been so clean before!!

It didn’t go so well, as Derek spent most of his time trying to jump in the weeds, while Sophia was generally not cooperative.

After supper Denise came to watch the kids while kevin and I went on a very relaxing date. We went out for supper, then to play some mini golf. We had a great time at the mini golf place. Kevin beat me by one stroke! I must be getting better, since the last time we played (5 years ago) he beat me by about 15.

Next we went to a bar to have a few drinks. Around 9:30, we were deciding on if we should have another round of drinks. Both of us were hesitant, so we called Denise to make sure the kids were in bed, then we headed home for some free drinks and free pool!! It was really a great relaxing night!!

Sophia and Derek woke us up this morning, as usual. I overheard Kevin telling Sophia she needed to take her Princess (pull-up) off. Then I overheard her say she didn’t have a princess on. Appearantly Denise didn’t know she sleeps in a pull-up and let her sleep in her underware. She was DRY!!! First time ever she’s been dry all night!!

After breakfast this morning, we played outside all morning. It was a gorgeous morning and went really fast!! We ate an early lunch and decided to get “Ollie” the sprinkler out. “Ollie” attracted the neighbor girls, too. At one point we had 5 girls playing in the sprinkler. They played for 4 hours…they would have played longer if we hadn’t plans for supper.

It was really relaxing for us, too, because the kids played really great together. I sat on the deck and talked on the phone most of the time.

For supper we went to Altoona to my friend Karen’s. The kids had a fun time playing with all their toys (as usual). On the way home, Sophia spotted Adventureland. As she was drifted off to sleep, she asked if she could go to Adventureland and ride on the lady bugs. Guess we’ll have to make sure to do that one more time this year!
