Unsolved Mystery

As a parent of 2 toddlers, we have come across many unsolved mysteries. You know, the times you walk in the room and say….”Uh, Sophia…why is Derek wet from head to toe”, or “how do he get out of his crib” or the always likely, “did you just see that?”

But only Derek will know the story behind what I found this morning. We heard Derek playing in his room for awhile this morning when we finally decided to go get him. The first thing I saw was Derek in the corner of his crib covered with his blankey, feet on the side of his crib, drinking his sippy. What a sweet boy. At the same time I smelled the stinky every other morning poopy diaper. As I reached in to give him a big morning hug, he reached to the other side of his crib to give me a present…his poopy diaper.

After a quick glance of the contents in the diaper, I expected the worst. I yelled at Kevin to turn on the bathtub and I quickly snatched Derek out of his crib to wash his buns. To my surprise his bunnos were clean. We disposed of the diaper and got Derek in the tub as I hesitantly looked through the contents of his crib…and….nothing. I found a couple of small spots on the crib sheet, but other than that everything appeared clean.

How in the heck can a 21 month old, take of his pants and poopy diaper and not get any poo anywhere?? I don’t get it. We washed up everything in the crib, just in case, but that is certainly the biggest mystery of the Hillabolt Household as of yet.

On an unrelated note, look who’s become Mr. jump in the pool:
