What’s Absorbent, what’s Not!
Monday night Derek got to take a bath all by himself, while Sophia was helping Daddy in the basement. I was sitting outside the bathroom on my phone and Derek was having so much fun in the tub all by himself.
After awhile Sophia came upstairs and sat on the SpongeBob stool beside the tub and talked to Derek, so I left to go clean up the kitchen. About 5 minutes later, I went to check on them and that’s when I found Derek swimming in the tub with a half dozen tampons. Sophia had thrown all the supplies from one of the bathroom drawers into the bathtub. We found out how absorbent tampons really are.
Tonight we had the kids ready for bed, and Derek already in his crib, when Sophia asked to get in the crib with him to get a kiss. We put her in there, then they both laid down and said “goodnight”. So we closed the door and left them in there for about 5 minutes.
When we opened the door we saw Derek drenched with water. Sophia had emptied her sippy cup on his head, the sheets, blankets…and…Fridge DJ. Derek’s beloved Fridge DJ doesn’t work, this is a catastrophe!! He can’t live without it, he’s had that thing by his side since he got it at Sophia’s 2nd birthday party. Looks like an emergency trip to Target is eminent!
Lesson of the story…don’t leave the kids alone for more than 4.5 minutes, especially if water is involved!!
