Our busy weekend started Thursday night when we went to Old Chicago Pizza in Ankeny to begin the celebration of Paul and Caitlin’s marriage. The kids had a fun time and Sophia liked the bathroom so much that she went potty 7 times in 2 hours.

Friday I took Derek to a doctor appt (he weighed 24 lbs 2 oz), then stopped at my work to show him off. I took him home and picked up Sophia to run a few errands, to Kevin’s new office to show her off, out for lunch, then we picked up Grandma Marilyn from the airport. Grandma Marilyn, Sophia, Derek and I all left for a weekend in Cherokee.

It was so fun to get Derek (11 mos), Logan (10 mos) and Devin (9 mos) together. The boys still didn’t seem to want to have much to do with one another. They would play with the same toys for a short period of time, but eventually something would catch one of their eyes, then off he would go. Each of them seemed to head in a different direction. The only time we got good pictures was when we put them all in a box together. Sophia and Emily had fun playing together too, Emily was very helpful.

On Saturday the whole Goodburn clan got together for Grandpa Goodburn’s (Grandma Marilyn’s Dad- AKA Great Grandpa) 80th birthday party. It was great to get everyone together and the weather was wonderful for an outside party, but Sophia kept me pretty busy with a few potty accidents. All in all I think Grandpa had a great birthday.

Sunday we were able to enjoy some more family time and of course another meal before heading back home. The kids were great in the car. In fact Sophia only watched about a half hour of the “Bee Movie”, then she took a quick nap, then we sang the “ABCs” and played imagination with shapes in the clouds. It was a really good ride home. Thanks to Uncle Doug and Aunt Cindy for helping us out on the way home!!

Where was Kevin you ask…he was best man in Paul and Caitlin’s wedding, so he had a bachelors weekend with the guys. I haven’t seen any pictures, but really missed out on seeing him all dressed up in his monkey suit. I’m sure someone will send me a picture. I didn’t get a lot of details, but I think he had a pretty fun relaxing weekend. Congratulations Paul and Caitlin, I heard it was a beautiful wedding!
