As we previously posted, Derek has been on the verge of walking for the last couple weeks (he has taken small steps here and there). We have noticed in the past couple days, that his balance is getting sharp and he was starting to stand (without holding on) more often.

Last night was the night he really took off. He was continually taking two, to three steps, while pausing (standing) in between. Lynnette and I sat apart from each other and had him walk back an forth. It really was amazing.

We tried to capture some video, but unfortunately, Sophia kept grabbing the Flip - so we got a lot of footage of the carpet. We’re going to try and get some better footage tonight.

Anyway, I did capture a pretty funny video of Derek watching Lexi run in place - you can see him walking along the chair toward the end.

With Derek now starting to walk and Sophia virtually potty trained, these past weeks have been very exciting. These milestones really make parenting all worth it!
