Saturday we decided to take the kids to Jordan Creek Mall. Surprisingly we’ve only been there a couple of times and never with the kids. We walked around the mall then grabbed something to eat. Afterwards Sophia got to play in the kiddie area, which is actually really nice. I have always been against letting her play in these, since I think it’s one big petrie dish, but I just made sure we washed our hands really well!!

Next we decided to go into Scheels. What a great store for a 2 year old…she loved it. She thought the tree inside the building was really neat and her and Derek both loved the escalators. She got to sit in the “big boat” (kayak) and in the paddle boat, but best of all was the “zoo”. There were deer, a moose, a bear, and lots of birds. Sophia was so amazed! Some day she will realize that we were in the gun section and the zoo was actually a very bad place for these animals to be.

While at lunch Derek got really excited and started clapping for the first time. Now he is a clapping fool!! He gets so excited all the time and grins a huge smile and starts to clap. He is so adorable!!

And for some reason I am really addicted to the Olympics this year! Sophia loves to watch the girls’ gymnastics and I love the swimming events…did anyone see the men’s 4 x 100 relay last night…that was awesome!!
