It’s kind of nice, that it’s nearing the end of July and we still have some flowers alive in the landscaping.
Here’s a macro shot of a rather nice red flower (anyone know what this particular flower is called?):

Sophia was standing by my side while I took this picture, repeating: “Daddy, you takin pict-tur of da frowers?” It was cute, my little photography assistant.
I believe that would be a day lily, of the small, red variety. I have a bunch of the yellow ones blooming in my backyard at the moment.
Awesome. I really don’t know much about flowers, but they sure look pretty.
Note to self, always check the settings of your camera, prior to shooting. I was playing around with ISO 3200 the night before and forgot to change back to something more reasonable (400) when I started shooting.
There was several shots that I took, that were extremely noisy. I had a nice shot of a bumble-bee, that turned out to be less than ideal.
Alana- you were just waiting for a non-kid blog. It’s good to know you still read up on us…just waiting for the one blog each year that’s not kid related.
Yep, I’m a RSS subscriber, and I read it diligently just waiting for something non-kid related. : )
