Yes I’m talking about my children!! My cousin got married on Saturday in Early Iowa and the reception was in Storm Lake (half hour from Cherokee). There was 2 hours between the wedding and the reception, so we took the kids, Grandma, Grandpa and Devin to a park by the lake. It was a gorgeous day and we got some super cute pictures. Derek decided it was time to show off yet again. He started crawling across the grass. He doesn’t go very far, but he can sure go. It’s so cute to watch him move and get where he is determined to go.
Over the last couple of days Derek has gotten soo strong. He pinches (I have bruises up and down my arms to prove it), he throws his body all around, he climbs over things and tries to flip of the changing table and basically goes where he wants too. He’s really good at grabbing anything in site…glasses, hair, earrings, whatever. We all seem to have such a hard time holding onto him, he’s going to start spending a lot more time on the floor and in his exersaucer. I remember when Sophia seemed to get strong, but I don’t remember her being this strong!!
Sophia and Derek were really good on the car ride to and from Cherokee this weekend. Sophia watched the Bee movie 3 times (good thing Kevin bought that DVD player for her). Sophia had so much fun dancing at the reception. We have some great video of her dancing to the “Chicken Dance” and the “Hokie Pokie”. I think she got her strange dancing moves from her dad. She had so much fun, we had a hard time getting her to leave. She slept pretty hard that night!!
Sunday Kim threw together a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY brunch with our parents and grandparents. Then we had some fun watching the “DLD Crew” play together and Sophia had a great time following Emily around. Thank you to Emily for showing Sophia such a great time.
