So I’ve been have issues lately, syncing my iPhone. After doing a bunch of Googling, with no apparent solutions, I decided to try a few things.
This is the error I was receiving:

Every time I would place in the dock, iTunes would essentially lock up (beach ball) for a couple of minutes. If I would remove the iPhone from the dock, then iTunes would recover - leaving for a few minutes results in the dialog above.
Messing around a bit, it turns out removing the backup of my iPhone did the trick. Searching around the Internet, I saw a small mention of people having issues with two (or more) iPhones and backups - I didn’t think it applied to me, because of only having one iPhone. Turns out, it was exactly what fixed my issues.

Everything seems to be working fine and dandy now.
