Friday night my work had a Christmas Party at Prairie Meadows and I decided it was time to get out of the house. So I got out of my pajamas for the second or third time in the last couple of months and threw on some make-up. I’m not sure that Kevin actually recognized me when I finally got ready.

We had our potential nanny, Denise, come watch the kids. The ride there was in silence until Kevin finally said, “They’re just fine, so have fun and relax!” It took a little convincing and a glass of wine, but I finally relaxed. I had asked Denise to call with a check-up after she got Sophia to bed. So I glanced over at my cell phone numerous times between 8 and 9. I didn’t want to call, in case she had her hands full.

She finally called a few minutes after 9 and said everything was great. Derek peed on his outfit (initiation), but other than that everything was great.

The party died down pretty early, so we left a little before 11. On the way home Kevin and I decided to take the opportunity to hit the grocery store (due to the upcoming winter storm that was supposed to hit). Surprisingly we weren’t the only ones dressed up running through the store throwing groceries in our cart.

Turns out everyone did just wonderfully!!
