Today is the day my c-section was scheduled for, which feels awfully strange since Derek will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. Oh how life would have been different if he had only waited!

My insurance finally approved Derek for synagis, which is a shot that he has to get every 28 days to help his immune system fight off RSV. He got his first shot yesterday, what a trooper!! He weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz.

Derek seemed so eager to come into this world a bit early. However, his cousin seems to have just the opposite frame of mind. My sister, Kim, was induced yesterday morning (on her due date) and here it is, a day and a half later…still no baby. I just got a call from Kyle saying that they broke Kim’s water and she now has her epidural. They are just patiently waiting for their little man to decide that it is time.
