Mom and Derek are doing great.
What a crazy ride our family has had this past week. Lynnette has been so amazingly strong throughout this entire process.
Tonight started like any other, at least the last few days anyway. I was video chatting with Lynnette around 8:00 P.M., with Sophia hootin and a hollerin in the background. In fact, we really didn’t get much of chance to chat; between the ever increasing contractions, poor connecting and Sophia grabbing my attention. You get the picture.
Anyway, Lynnette called me about 10:00, to tell me that is was probably going to be happening soon and that I should get some rest. I tried that for about ten minutes and decided to call her back. Thank goodness I did.
After stopping at a convenience store to grab a couple Red Bulls and a sandwich (hey, I figured it was going to be a long night). I hoped on the interstate and headed to the hospital.
About two miles out, I received another call from Lynnette: “where are you? It’s happening now!” I entered the room and was greeted with a cap and jump suit - how close we really were.
Anyway, forty minutes later, we were blessed with our beautiful son.
All seems well at this point: vitals, colors, tests, etc, but as he was so early, it customary, that he be kept under supervision, at least for the next few weeks.
Thanks to everyone for helping us out this past week. It really means a lot to us to have all of your love and support.
Oh yeah, be sure to give Sophia some extra love next time you see her, for she now has a pretty onry little brother.
