Information…Or Misinformation

Well I made it through the night. I got about 2 hours of sleep, around 5 until 7. I felt really weird this morning, so Kevin decided to come hang out with me for most of the day. My contractions went away around 10ish this morning, and I’ve been feeling pretty good.

Karen brought me some KFC…which was a huge treat. Hospital food is just as good as it sounds, so it was nice to get something different. One big update…I have my cell phone back. They found it at the laundry service before it had gone through the cycle. So it still works!!

I was feeling really good, so I sent Kevin back to work around 2ish. Then I thought I would take a little nap. I now know that our little boy is not ever going to let me get a good nap in. My contractions started up about a half hour after I fell asleep. I think he doesn’t like it when I get too relaxed. He is a little stinker!!

Anyway, so I think I got a good hour nap in. I woke up with every contraction, but kept telling myself that my nurse will be in any time with my little magic yellow pill. She never came and never came. So I called her about 15 minutes ago and she told me that they have discontinued my last little bit of magic. So I am completely on my own now.

What’s interesting is none of the doctors are really good about telling me what’s going on. The practice I go to has like 12 doctors, so of course I’ve already seen 5 of them during my stay here. The doctor I saw today was very informative about a lot of things, he just forgot to mention that one little tidbit of information. He did tell us an interesting statistic…he said that after your water breaks, most people deliver within the week. Kevin and I really thought I was going to be for another week, but the more and more we hear, the less we think that is the case.

Anyway, so as long as I don’t try to sleep I think I will be good to go!

You know, since they’ve cut off your supply of drugs this no-sleeping thing might be a good way to entertain yourself. Sleep deprivation can be just as much fun as many recreational drugs, and I’m sure you’ll be saying all sorts of insane things after a few more days. : )
