Rough Nights: Part II

Hooray for me, I was fortunate enough to share in the overnight festivities.

It seems the reality of the situation may have finally caught up with Sophia, as she was up most of the night.

Our little adventure began about 1:00 A.M. (maybe she could sense you were up? I should have called you) and ended around 3:30 A.M. when Grandma came up to relieve me. I’m not exactly sure how much longer those two were up, but when I checked on Sophia this morning, she was still covered up by a blanket. While not significant, Lynnette and I know that Sophia doesn’t normally keep a blanket on for very long: my guess is she was so tired, she may not have even noticed it was there.

Anyway, if she wasn’t screaming bloody murder, then it was “what’s that?” We tried watching Little Einsteins and SpongeBob, rocking in the dark, singing sweet lullabies, and even a little tough love. Nothing seemed to do the trick.

You can’t believe how happy I was to see Grandma appear from the basement. I think Sophia and I were both so tired, it was merely throwing fire on the flames. We’ll see just how much longer she was able to stay up after I went to bed.

Anyway, like we have said the past few days: knowing how tough Lynnette has it, keeps me going. Conversely, knowing how tough I have it, keeps Lynnette going. Although apart, we are working together to make it through.

Lynnette said something to me the other day, that I can’t help but repeat here: “Smile, we’re being tested.” So that’s just what I’m going to do. :)
