This morning I popped out of bed 15 minutes earlier than normal, thinking we might be able to get to work early today. The morning routine was going off without a hitch, until the car ride to daycare. Sophia was sharing her cereal with me, when I felt a sudden…gush. When we got to daycare, I quietly went in to the bathroom to find that my water had broke. I was able to give Sophia a quick hug, then urged Kevin that we had to go.
Then panic set it. I am 32 wks and 6 days along, which I think is just way to early. Kevin did a great job of calming me down, even though I know he was just as freaked out as I was. We were just a few blocks away from the clinic, so we stopped there for some moral support and some pads to put on the car seat. We then made the journey to the hospital, which seemed to take FOREVER!!
So my water did in fact break, but doesn’t necessarily mean he’s coming today, or this week. I had an ultrasound that showed he is 5 lbs 5 oz (give or take) and my amniotic fluid levels are very normal. However, at one point my contractions were 4 minutes apart, so they had to give me a shot to stop them, which has seemed to work for now. I’ve also had the shot to help with baby’s lungs. I will get the second shot sometime tomorrow morning.
So the plan is (hopefully Cashew is willing to play along) to call the hospital home for a few weeks to give him a chance to grow a little more. Mom is flying in tonight to lend a helping hand and I know Robin is up for some grandma time with Sophia too.
Just thought I would share this…Lexi was acting super weird this morning. Kevin went home to grab my bags and a few things and he said she was still acting really weird. I think she must have sensed something…strange huh!
