Morning Routine

It seems as though we have a few pretty good routines, so I thought I would share. Our morning routine consists of Kevin and I waking Sophia up together (unless I feel the need to sleep in- then Kevin is on his on).

Sometimes it takes a little longer than normal, but once she’s up, she pops right onto her feet. She then points to the radio, so one of us turns it on. Then she picks her baby up and gives it to one of us. Then the other person gets “teddy bunny”. She then lifts her leg up as if she wants to climb out of the crib. Kevin usually picks her up and puts her on the floor.

Next it’s time to change the diaper and put our clothes on. Sometimes she tries to escape, but we remind her she has to get her clothes on before she can have her “nana”. After she’s all dressed she walks into the kitchen and points to her “nana’s”. Kevin grabs a nana while Sophia walks into the living room and tries to get into Daddy’s chair.

Kevin catches up with her and sits her in his chair, opens the nana and turns on “Tigger and Pooh”. She intently watches her cartoon while slurping up her banana like a big girl.

By that time I’m ready and it’s time to get out of the house. She walks to the truck like a big girls and sometimes tries to get into the drivers seat. She usually chats the entire way to daycare. Every time she sees a dog she yells “puppy” and starts giggling or screams with excitement. Kevin and I both walk her into “baby school” and she always has a hard time letting us go. She’ll cling onto us as long as she can. She’s usually crying when we leave. However, by the time we get to the other side of the building, she’s already playing.

I just find it funny that she does the same quirky things every morning. Like handing us her baby and bunny. It’s the little things that make me laugh!!

Maybe tomorrow I’ll enlighten you on our night-time routine.
