This was the first 3 day weekend in a long time that was very pleasant and relaxing!! Kevin went on a shopping spree on Saturday morning to Home Depot, so he spent most of Sat putting up the new blinds for the kids’ room and front screen door. Around 11:30 Kevin and Sophia went outside to prune the garden and I decided to rest in bed for 5 minutes. Kevin came in around 2:30 and asked me how long I was planning to rest. Wow, that was a great nap!!

We finally got out of the house around 5ish and purchased a bench for the front entry way and had a nice supper. On Sunday we did a little cleaning and Kevin mowed his beautiful yard. Then we went to a party around 4ish. Sophia had a great time playing with all the kids at the party. They had a little bouncy house and a water table, both kept her entertained until 8ish.

Sophia went to bed around 9ish. To my surprise, we all got to sleep in this morning until after 9 am. I know I’ve said it before, but I am so happy she got my sleeping habits!! I know Cashew won’t be as accommodating, as he always seems to be up…even when I get up in the middle of the night for a quick trip to the bathroom.

This afternoon we had some people over to grill some burgers and dogs. It was a nice little get together. It seems so much easier and less stressful to have people over here, vs our other house. Lexi was really great and didn’t hardly bark at all. And Sophia was great entertainment, as usual. We had a ice cream cone at the neighbors, then got to i-chat with Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Steve a little tonight.

All in all it really was a great weekend! I guess tomorrow is back to the real world though.
