Sophia and I left first thing on Friday and headed to Cherokee. A friend of mine let me borrow her portable DVD player (thanks Karen), which made the trip a piece of cake. Sophia played for 20 min, then watched movies for 2 hours and slept the rest of the way. She was a perfect angel. The other one was the ornery one. That’s right…Cashew was using my bladder as a trampoline the entire trip.
We went to Sophia’s Great G’ma and G’pa’s house for lunch. Grandma Marilyn, Kim & Emily and Great Aunt Julie were all there. We had a great lunch and just hung out. It turned out to be a great relaxing day. Saturday we had a baby shower for Kim’s baby boy. Afterwards, they surprised us with a small family baby shower for Karissa’s baby and Cashew. It was a nice surprise.
Saturday night (after we got Emily and Sophia to bed), Kim, Karissa and I stayed up until midnight just talking. It was fun to have the time to sit around and talk baby stuff and joke around. It’s been a very long time since we’ve gotten a chance to do that. Around 11:30, we even had our own midnight snack…root beer floats…mmmmm!
Sunday morning Kim made us pancakes for breakfast, then we headed back over to Great G’ma & G’pas. By this time Sophia had really started to miss her daddy. So after a quick lunch we headed home. Sophia slept for the first hour and a half, then was very content watch Baby Neptune on the DVD player. This time Cashew was even on his best behavior!
It was a very wonderful family trip. Sophia was so happy, playful and sweet the entire trip. Kevin missed us very much and we came home to surprise after surprise. He was very busy the entire time we were gone. He hung Sophia’s (name) letters in her room, picked up Cashew’s dresser (thanks Robin), cleaned the garage, bought a CD player for the kitchen, and cleaned the carpets on the main floor. We all had a great weekend, but we are happy to be home!!
I don’t know about you, but I am exhausted!
We will bring Bunny-Bear on Friday. Hopefully Sophia doesn’t miss it to much.
I noticed right away that I forget Teddy Bunny, but so far she hasn’t. Thank goodness!! I’m just happy your coming down this weekend to bring him back!!
