Where do I even start?? I have to start by mentioning that when we picked Sophia up from Baby School on Friday her diaper rash had gotten even worse.
That said…the rest of the story starts with Sophia sleeping in for us, both Saturday and on Sunday mornings. Sunday after the crib fiasco, we didn’t leave Baby Depot until about 1:30 on Sunday, which is about an hour and half past her nap time. We kept her up on the way back to the house, since I knew we had to change her diaper before her nap (we couldn’t change them at Baby Depot because the bathrooms are beyond gross…and we had to change them because of the awful rash). Anyway, we got her home, changed her pants and nappy time it was…for a very long time.
She ended up taking about a 3 hour nap, getting up a little after 4:30 and we didn’t have any troubles getting her to bed at 9 on Sunday night. However, the fun began when she realized that she had had enough sleep around 3 am Monday morning. Any other time, I would have just let her cry herself back to sleep, but because I didn’t want her laying around in a dirty diaper, I got up. I changed her diaper and asked her if she wanted to go back to bed by herself or come sleep with Mommy on the couch. She of course chose couch. I got comfy on the couch, while she tried to find the perfect spot…for an hour and a half. Around 5ish, she finally started snoring. About the time I took her to her crib, she woke up…which meant it was Daddy time.
They said she was really good at daycare…she fell asleep at the lunch table, but other than that she had a great day. Kevin and I picked her up after work and went to the grocery store. We ate at the deli, then went shopping. She didn’t want to sit in the cart or be held. She walked up to the bananas and picked out some good lookin’ bananas. Then we got some plums, because she picked them up and put one in her mouth…guess we’re buying those. Anyway, everything went downhill from there, which led to another 5 minutes of shopping before Kevin decided to go sit in the truck with the screaming child that seemed to be bothering all the other shoppers. That was certainly a first!!
Then she turned into sweet sweet Sophia. We played with the neighbor kids for a short time, then Sophia and I took another really fun bath together. We were in there so long her fingers pruned. After her bath she spent 5 minutes trying to get the pruned skin off her fingers. We finally had to distract her with a book to get her to forget about her fingers.
Anyway, she’s in bed now and I hope we’re back on track, because I am tired!!!! Oh, we’re still working on the diaper rash….poor thing!
