There has been a fair amount of grumbling concerning how our blog seems to be dedicated solely to Sophia. Well here is a story that involves both Sophia and my work laptop. I hope you enjoy.
So it was another another daddy, daughter night this evening, as Lynnette was “out with the girls”. Sophia and I spent most of the evening googling and laughing together.
Around 7:00 p.m., I was scheduled to make a production change to one of my company’s WebSphere boxes, so I pulled out my Thinkpad and established a VPN connection. During this process, I had Sophia sitting on my lap, bouncing on my knee; it is always fun to function one handed on a laptop.
Anyway, the more I did on my laptop, the more interested Sophia become with what I was doing. So much so, that she started to reach out and attempt to grab/touch my work apparatus. Eureka! My girl love technology as much as I do!
As she banged on the case and randomly clicked the mouse pad keys, I noticed her moving towards the keyboard. Oh lord, In one smooth stroke, she managed to “pluck” the alt key off of the keyboard and put it straight in to her mouth. You can imagine my shock and disbelief.
In the end, I was able to get the key back on the keyboard, without much difficulty. I guess this is one of those lessons, that demonstrates just how important it is to watch out for what the kiddlin is doing these days…
