HHHmmm, where do we start??? The laundry room is the only storage in the house and it is a pig pen. All the stuff in the closets of the nursery and spare bedroom need to go elsewhere…or to the laundry room. So where do you actually start?
First thing on Saturday I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and purchased the space saver bags I’ve been seeing on TV. Supposedly, you can stuff a whole bedding set into a bag and suck all the air out so that it fits into your glove box. Well, they mostly work. Meaning, we were able to stuff a ton of stuff into three bags, then suck all the air out. We then placed the bags on the top of our hallway closet. The bad thing is the big one must have had a little air hole and expanded. So it’s fine for now, until we need to get one of them out of the closet. I think we’ll worry about that later.
Kevin and I then decided to attack the laundry room together. 4 hours and 8 garbage sacks later, we were so proud of our achievement! Our laundry room is now organized and we even have a little extra space on one of the shelves!! We hardly recognized the room as our own today.
Today we went to Target and bought some storage bins for Peanut’s closets. We even found some on clearance. Her room even looks better.
Some may call it early nesting, but I call it much needed organization! I can’t believe how fast we grew into this house, we’ve only been here for 5 years.
What do you mean that after 4 hours and 8 garbage sacks later you only have extra space on one shelf? Could you even enter the laundry room before? I guess I haven’t been down there for a while.
Basically, no. The floor space in the laundry room was shrinking each in every week. So in addition to the shelf space, we have a very clean floor!
