Electronic RSVP

Howdy. Well as you can see by the lack of activity on our blog, both Lynnette and I have been really busy these past few weeks.

While Lynnette has mainly been busy with work and baby related stuff, I on the other hand, have been busy working on yet another side project. :)

With all the events we seem to be “going to” and/or “throwing”, one thing that stands out is getting people to RSVP to your event. Usually, an email is broadcast about the event, ending with: “Please email me if you are coming…”, or something similar.

My solution, was to devise an extremely simple, electronic RSVP system: RSVP4.US (catchy name huh?)

Sure there are more robust solutions out there, like evite.com, but nothing nearly as simple as RSVP4.US. Basically, you enter a few details about the event, pick a template for your guests and… Well, that’s it. :) An email is then sent to you with the URL to paste in/on your email, printed invites, or whatever.

So, here’s my pitch: please give it a try when planning your next event. It’s simple, free and super cool. Oh yeah, it was made with Ruby on Rails and AJAX technology. :)

I like the way this site describes rsvpfor.us:

RSVPFOR.US ? a very simple RSVP service that seems to work much like evite, but with less crap

That is exactly what I was trying to accomplish. :)
