29 Weeks

My appointment today was uneventful, especially after the exciting ultrasound on Saturday. I only gained 2 pounds this time, so I didn’t get scolded!! My measurements were all right on. Peanut’s heart rate was 150. Looks like everything is going just wonderfully!

I now have to go every two weeks, so I’ll be sure to give you the exciting news every other week. Tomorrow we start child birth classes, so I’m sure that’ll freak both Kevin and myself out. It’s getting a little scary that we only have 11 more weeks to prepare.

Oh…and an update on the crib. We received what was supposed to be the last parts for the crib today. Kevin put everything together, then realized he still doesn’t think we have all the right parts. This time I’ll make the phone call to ensure they get it right!

    Right parts? Not quite.

We received nine crossbars of the same length. Note that we actually need ten of them, thus the last missing parts episode.

Today we receive the final outstanding crossbar. Hmm, it’s about 1/2″ longer then the rest of the ones I have already installed - I’ll just cut it short with a hacksaw.

Drumroll… Turns out, the nine that I had installed were too short and the one we received today is the correct size. We are now going to need all ten of them over.

You have to be kidding me. Why is this crib so hard to get together?

Kevin–just think of the years of putting toys together that you have to look forward to.

Yeah, but does it normally take four times to get the right parts?

I have to admit, beyond the mistakes, the company has been doing everything possible to get things right. As a matter of fact, we should be receiving the “correct” pieces this afternoon. At least one can hope anyway.
