26 Week Appointment

I had another doctor check-up on Peanut today. Seems as though she might have got her momma into a little bit of trouble for gaining some extra pounds. All the Dr. said was that I gained a lot more than last month. He asked if his scale could be off. I assured him that it wasn’t and that I’m sure it had to do with the holidays.

I went to the hospital a bit early for my glucose test. Everyone made me think I had to drink something as awful as motor oil, so I was a bit hesitant. However, I actually liked it. It just tasted like orange soda, which I love and haven’t had for awhile.

I felt bad that Kevin came to the appointment with me, since it only lasted about 10 minutes. The nurse came in and took my blood pressure. Then the doctor came in and measured my uterus, which was at 27. Then, we got to hear Peanut’s heartbeat, which was still in the mid-140s. The doctor also pointed out to us where how he thought Peanut was laying and why she kept switching sides to kick. But the most important part of the appointment was when I mentioned my pains in my stomach. The doctor then pointed out to Kevin that I should not be doing any cooking or cleaning until the baby is born…and maybe for a year after that!!

And how is Kevin taking that? :)

Yeah, good thing he is retiring.

I can understand the “taking it easy” while pregnant, but up to a year afterwards? Let’s just say the Dr. has a pretty dry sense of humor…
