Wow the Thanksgiving holiday went by fast!! Thursday we went down to Indianola to spend time with Kevin’s parents. Dinner was wonderful, but the place was a zoo. Literally…there were 12 dogs and 5 people. Needless to say, our two were dead tired by the time we got home.
Friday I went into work while Kevin stayed home and spent some much needed quality time with the doggies, doing absolutely nothing (except laundry). I think it was good for him to get a day of rest, since I usually have him running around completing my honey-do list.
Saturday morning we got up early and hit the road for Cherokee. We got there around 11. All seemed to be going well until 12:30, when Rory jumped into my lap and started drooling uncontrollably. Then we noticed he was shaking like crazy and his eyes started blinking really fast. My dad called the town vet and we were able to get him in for a check-up. After a little poking and prodding, his diagnosis was car sickness. We had taken him to Cherokee numerous times without any problems. The only difference was this time Karissa’s bird Stewy was chirping and squawking each time Rory went over to investigate the green little feathery thing.
The rest of the weekend was great. We went to Grandma and Grandpa’s for a big family lunch and supper, then breakfast this morning at Mom & Dad’s. We finally got home this afternoon around 4:30.
The entire weekend our 4 year-old niece Emily was giving Kevin a little look into the future. I think they played hide-and-seek for a good 5 hours. I think he’s decided it will be nice to ease into the energy of a 4 year old little girl. I think he called her a little stick of dynamite.
Emily got ahold of our camera. Check out all the pictures she took:

Yes, the weekend was great, except for the 1:00, 5:30, 6:25 & 7:30 A.M. wakeup calls this morning. For some reason, Lexi would cry like Chewbacca in my face, until I woke up and took her outside. After the fourth time, I figured it was moot to try sleeping any longer.
I tell you, we were both really scared that something was really wrong with Rory. I have never seen a dog, basically have a breakdown - to the point where he colapsed in the yard. Let’s just say, Rory was really happy to be home…
