It Works!
Last night Peanut starting kicking a bit harder than normal, so I called Kevin over and had him put his hand on my belly. Peanut stopped kicking. Then when she started kicking again, I’d call him over again. We did this a number of times and found it quite humorous that Peanut just didn’t want her daddy to know she was kicking mommy.
So Kevin grabbed the little heartbeat monitor (Bebe Sounds), that I mentioned about a month ago. It didn’t take him but a couple minutes to get what sounded like Peanut’s heartbeat. We had to listen very carefully, past the rumbling and grumbling, but when we concentrated really hard, we could hear the faint whoosh-whoosh of her heartbeat. Yeah, it works!!!
You lucky ducks….we could never hear the heartbeat with our Bebe monitor even when I was 9 months pregnant–the most we ever heard was loud static! Your monitor must be better than ours.
Anyways, how nice you can hear her heart. Enjoy the sound.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
I wouldn’t call what we heard as crystal clear, but it was certainly a steady, regular beat.
Most of the time, all you can hear is crackling, static/popping and Lynnette’s tummy growlin.
In any case, it was very exciting, even if what we heard was all in our heads…
