Peanut Can Hear

I’ve been reading numerous websites on the development of babies, which say after 20 weeks Peanut should be able to hear. That is so cool. That means I need to start talking and reading to her more. I’ve read that if you read the same book over and over again for at least 6-weeks, the baby will be soothed when you read that same book after she’s born.

A couple of months ago my mom brought me this Bebe Sounds Fetal monitor. All it is is headphones connected to a little machine that I place on my belly and you’re supposed to be able to hear her heartbeat. So far, all I’ve been able to hear is the constant growling of my stomach. Her heartbeat probably isn’t strong enough yet to hear.

So I got to thinking…if all I can hear is my stomach in it’s constant grumbling state, what do you think Peanut can hear. Poor thing, all she can hear is ggggrrrrooowwll! There’s no way she can hear Kevin talk to her over that.

Have you seen the picture of us in our Halloween costumes? Calling us “weird” is an understatement.
