I was at the bank the other day making a deposit and I got into a conversation with the teller. She?s the one that always works nights and she?s always working when I?m there. She looked like she was pregnant, but I didn?t want to ask, as she could?ve just been putting on a little pre-winter weight. I?m sure she was pregnant, but not 100% sure, so I didn?t ask.

When does a person ask if another is pregnant, or chalk it up to a little weight gain??? I?m sure we?ve all asked or said something to someone who wasn?t actually pregnant and felt very terrible!! Thus, we?ve learned to keep our mouths shut.

So I was in the bathroom today and one of the nurses (whom I hardly ever see), said ?Can I ask you a question? Are you expecting?? So I must look pregnant and not fat. Yeah, that?s a good thing. I also had a friend tell me today that I must not have any stomach muscles at all, since I do already look pregnant. Oh well. I must not have any of those awful pregnant women hormones if it doesn?t bother me. I actually thought it was quite humorous. Now coming from anyone else but this one person, the hormones may have gotten a bit out of control.

Since I basically see you every day, the changes are less noticable to me. The main clue I have, is “honey, these pants don’t fit me anymore.”

Usually, it is pretty easy to distinguish when a girl is pregnant, by the fact it looks as though she is carrying a large basketball underneath her shirt. Of course, there is that gray area, when it is really hard to tell.

The best advice would probably be not to say anything at all. If someone wants to let the world know of their pregnancy, they would usually say something anyway.

    But what do I know?

You’d be surprised. I made the mistake once and asked a woman when she was due….dumb mistake. She wasn’t pregnant! Boy, was my face red. Now I don’t ask, I wait for them to say something.
