Kevin went out on Friday night with Paul and didn?t get home until 2 AM on Saturday. The dogs were nice enough to announce his very late arrival, which was timed perfectly with my middle of the night trip to the bathroom.
My alarm woke me on Saturday morning at 7:30. I rolled over to Lexi sprawled out on Kevin?s side of the bed. I think she was quite enjoying the extra space. I went downstairs and followed the sound of the TV into the living room and found Kevin in the shape of a pretzel, sleeping on the love seat.
His punishment was to get up early and drive to Cherokee, my hometown. Actually, he knew the night before that we were going to leave early and that he had to drive, since we were taking the truck.
We had a really good weekend hanging out with my parents, sisters, brother, niece and the 6 dogs!! We planned our schedule for the upcoming holiday season and for my parents departure from the place they?ve called home for so many years. On December 29th, the are leaving Iowa for their new home in St. George, Utah. We?ve all know that it has coming, but it seems to have snuck up on us way to fast. We are all going to miss them very much.
We left Cherokee early afternoon on Sunday with a treadmill, a pack-and-play, a lot of clothes to get me through the next few months, and two very tired doggies.

I wanted to share a couple photos of Emily in the t-bucket:

Later on, she took me for a ride.
Oh yes, the drive up there was quite difficult for me, considering just how terrible I was feeling. Four hours of sleep and brown bottle flu doesn’t make driving three hours much fun.
It was nice to hang out with the family though. We ate at the local chinese buffet on Saturday (after my stomach finally calmed down), and had a great breakfast the following morning: Lynnette-wiches of course - similar to an egg-mcmuffin, but made with love, not distaste for the job.
Unfortunately, due to my lack of sleep the night before, I wasn’t able to stay up and watch movies Saturday night. I was pretty well zonked by 8:15 P.M.
